Research-Based Teaching

Since 2010 I am teaching in Social and Cultural Anthropology with main focus on Visual and Media Anthropology. With long experiences in interdisciplinary and international institutes, I contributed to BA and MA programs of Transcultural Studies, Anthropology as well as the South Asian Studies at the University of Heidelberg and at different other universities.

With seminars about Theories and Methods in Visual and Media Anthropology, Art Anthropology, Popular Culture, Urban and (Post)Migration Studies and with a regional focus on Europe, South Asia, East Asia, and the Middle East, I often follow a research-based format to support students in gaining experiences and insights in applied anthropology and first-hand knowledge in conducting ethnographic research on visual and media cultures or migratory societies. Many of these seminars are conceptualized with partners outside the university or as interdisciplinary co-teaching.

You can find the most recent of these seminars in the drop down menu. For information about older courses, see the teaching archive.
